CIS Players Hit Camp in Tip Top Shape
With another great summer of training wrapping up, SST’s High Performance Football players are all heading back to school a little earlier than most people, as they join their respective team’s pre season training camps. All of these great athletes, worked extremely hard in the gym this summer, pushing themselves, as well as each other to get better every single workout. Whether it was in the weight room pushing out that final rep, or on the field finishing the last 5 yards of a sprint, harder than they started. All of the boys feed off each other’s energy and it is a pleasure to watch them excel on the field, after watching all the hard work they put in during their off-season.
Before the players hit the field for practice and scrimmage, each athlete goes through a series of tests so the coaches can gage each player’s athletic abilities before the camp starts. It also allows the coaches to see who dedicated their free time to training during the off-season. SST’s athletes did not disappoint as our high performance football players put up some very impressive numbers. Western Mustangs Wide Receiver Tim Brady, who is just coming back form off season knee surgery, put up an impressive 40 yard dash time of 4.70 as well as a pro agility of 4.46, 9 reps at 225 lbs and a 32” vertical. First year Waterloo Warrior running back Ryan DiRisio (pictured above) had a personal best of 8 reps at 225 lbs, up until the testing his PB was only 5 reps! Billy McPhee QB of the Queens Golden Gales, Had 13 reps at 225 lbs and a 26” vertical. Billy’s teammate, offensive lineman John “J MINI” Miniaci had a vertical jump of 29”.
SST would like to congratulate all of these great athletes
